However, for James Hiram Bedford it turn out to be very cold, not least because he actually died on 12th January 1967 from kidney cancer … But that was just the beginning.
Just a few hours later he became the first person to become cryonically preserved, and before anyone points out that there were earlier attempts I should point out that his body is still in that state so as far as I am concerned he really is the first to be done properly.
As far as the whole concept goes I still think when you eventually thaw someone out you will just end up with mush.
On the other hand you would still be able to extract DNA and create a clone, but obviously it would not have any memories or similar personality traits. Let’s face it, reproduction is just another way of passing on your DNA code … And it’s a lot more fun than being frozen
