Just been watching an edition of the wonderful BBC program ‘Click’, apologies to people that have already seen it but I find pretty much of all my TV viewing is time shifted
It had a piece about the great little video recorder known as the ‘Flip’ that Cisco bought for $590 million in 2009.
Having worked with a lot of Cisco products … Let’s face it if you have ever used a server or internet connection then you probably have as well
I did find it strange that they would write it off as the report said ‘as a restructuring of the company to concentrate on its core networking operations’.
OK, I can believe that the improved quality of cameras in mobile phones could hurt the sales, but just to kill it off ?
RIP Flip … Or was it just coincidence that FlipLive was launched the very next day, a WiFi enabled camera that could post directly to sites without downloading to the PC first … Only time will tell, which in internet time means this will have been resolved by the time I post this
