61 years since Hubbard published Dianetics
on May 9th, 2011 at 8:31 pmWas thinking of a nice quiet few pints in the pub and post a couple of entries in this blog, however I realised that it on this day back in 1950 that Lafayette Ronald Hubbard published the book ‘Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.’
For those that do not remember Dianetics then it might help to you understand if I explain that it morphed into Scientology ….. OMFG, LibreOffice recognised that word. Is it a conspiracy that they are taking over the world, or maybe just that people using Open Source software feel that they do need to point out the idiocy of some ideals and so gets added to the dictionary.
If you take a look at the pieces he penned before this book that changed the lives of so many then you will see he really started back in the 1930′s publishing works aimed at the sci-fi and fantasy areas. After serving in the Navy during World War II he began writing for ‘Astounding Science’, unfortunately I am too young to remember that but have since caught up with quite a few issues
I will not go into a description of Dianetics here, if you want to know more then have a look at http://www.dianetics.co.uk …. If, after looking at that you think it is a good idea then please either leave this website or please, please, please enter into a civilised online discussion with me … Or if you live in Brighton I would be happy to meet up for a discussion.
Here I should point out that I am an atheist ( in case you did not know ), but have had some great discussions with people from all over the world from all religions and find 99% of them really great people with a fantastic attitude to life.
Surprisingly people that are a combination of star dust can be nice to each other and die at the end of their life without religion
